Control Anxiety With Relaxation

As a person who suffered for years with panic attack anxiety symptoms, I finally found someone who taught me the following, very simple, way of taking back control.

Muscle relaxation is within your control, as is visualization.  So, while you are controlling your breathing, use that powerful imagination that we all possess.

Visualize from the top of your head to the tip of your toes each muscle you encounter as you move down through your body, visualize it as totally relaxed.

You want to actually feel the tension let go, in your face muscles, your neck, your shoulders, on down through your arms – even to your fingers.  In fact, as you practice this, you’ll find a neat trick.

You can relax your hand and fingers to the point you can no longer feel them.  You continue on down through your body using this technique with all of the muscles.

One thing that is happening you are occupying your mind by actually controlling what’s happening to your body that, in turn, helps you take back full control that you need to have to turn off this massive attack of anxiety.

That left unchecked has incapacitated you with fear and all the physical body manifestations that come with it.

Now I know this technique works, because I personally experienced this disorder.  I personally taught this technique to hundreds of people and I know it works.

Of course, we must include the fact that exercise can produce a sense of well being as it relaxes muscles, which in turn decreases these overwhelming attacks that people have when they suffer from anxiety disorder.  As part of the treatment of anxiety panic attacks, exercise is an ongoing part of keeping your body health and fit.

Getting plenty of sleep and rest, not only physically relaxes your body, but sleep is a time given to us where the mind, like your computer, sorts out all the things that bother us.  That worries us all day long.  It’s extremely important to get 8-9 hours of sleep a day.

Visualize everyday waking up and feeling great.  The first thing you do when you open your eyes is you visualize how good you feel, how good your day is going to be, because after all we create our own reality, and that includes using self control for the treatment of the debilitating disorder of anxiety panic attacks.

Naturally you avoid alcohol, drug abuse, caffeine and any stimulants, anything that stimulates your nervous system and increases your sense of anxiety.

You have to learn you are the master of your reality, and as you confront the things that build up and make you anxious, just remember, visualization, deep breathing, relaxation is the best treatment you could give to yourself.
