Today is:
Controlling Panic Attacks Using
the Mind Body Connection
There are many techniques that claim
to control panic attacks. Some are effective; some are just
somebody’s idea of what you need to do.
Now I come at this problem from a more
personal point of view. I personally was a victim of
panic attacks and I know what I say about them is from actual
experience.
Let’s take the technique that I
personally use to control the anxiety and panic
attacks. It’s the
called the “Mind Body Connection”.
Picking this technique is very natural
for me, because I used to own a business called, “Stress
Management”. A
great number of our customers were people trying to find a way
to control what they came to realize was anxiety or a full
blown panic attack.
The central idea that one has to
accept in using this technique is there is, indeed, a mind body
connection.
I’m sure you’ve heard the term, “Self
Visualization”. I’m fairly certain you’ve seen articles where
people are trained to visualize themselves as having the skills
and/or control over a problem.
They see themselves absolutely in
charge and in control of the mind body
connection.
You actually see yourself anxiety free.
One of the more successful techniques
to help control anxiety may create a little anxiety in its
application.
Visualize yourself in a full blown panic attack
where you believe you have no control and visualize your mind
taking control as you become calm &
relaxed.
Now, when you do this exercise
correctly you start with the understanding that you do, indeed,
have complete control over your mind, which in turn controls
what the body is experiencing.
Visualization is a great tool and if
you really think about it, you use it many times a
day.
You let your mind drift back to your
last vacation. You
see yourself at the ocean. You see yourself having
fun. In fact,
sometimes you get so immersed, it’s what they call
daydreaming.
Now, back to the subject at
hand. When you’re
applying control techniques to prevent future panic attacks, it
helps some people to write down how you would like to see
yourself in complete control. You write down why you think
you can or think you can’t control these
attacks.
My personal experience and what I
taught in my classes all took place in the
mind. There
is a phrase that’s very true and that is “What’s expected
tends to be realized”.
The trick here is to absolutely
believe that, because what you put into your subconscious will
absolutely control how you live your life.
That includes eliminating and/or
controlling anxiety & panic attacks.
Now you have to come back to
visualization. If
you can see, feel, taste and experience a vision of you on the
ocean.
You simply have to start working
towards building a vision of you taking control of that
anxiety& absolutely believing this is going to
happen.
In fact, after you practice
visualization a few times, you will feel yourself believing
that you are, indeed, in control.
Our powers of imagination are
extremely powerful. You can imagine your
future. You can
trust that your subconscious will start working towards the new
you.
As I said I’m speaking from personal
experience. In a
way it’s like doing battle with a monster. Its name is “Anxiety
Disorder”.
I sought out training in visualization
techniques, controlling what my mind believed I became the
owner and instructor of a business called, “Stress
Management”.
Now at the bottom of this article, I’m
going to include a couple of links, where you can go to find
out more about the mind body control.
As I said, I know from personal
experience you can do this! You just have to expect this
is going to happen. You will, indeed, be free of
anxiety and panic attacks.
You should consult with your doctor
and make sure he is aware of your anxiety problem and what you
are doing about it.
